Supply Chain Excellence Brightens the Holiday Season

title

As we move through these busy final days of 2025, I’ve been thinking about the ultimate supply chain professional: a certain North Pole resident who manages a global, multi-modal distribution network with an astounding zero-day lead time. While he deserves much of the credit, we in the industry know the real magic is in the elves’ shop floor management and the impeccable cold-chain integrity of Dasher, Dancer and the rest of their crew.

In all seriousness, the holiday season is always an inspiring time for our supply chain community. It’s a reminder of the last mile that connects our work to families, communities and all kinds of joyous occasions. Reflecting on 2025, Im struck by how far we’ve come. This year was defined by resilience in action. We didn't just talk about agility; we lived it. There’s no doubt that supply chain professionals made a tangible, positive difference in the lives of people all around the world.

I am particularly moved by the progress and dedication of our supply chain family this year:

  • Connection: We gathered — both in person and virtually — to problem-solve and share a vision for a more sustainable future.
  • Storytelling: We launched "The Chain," our new docuseries that unravels complexities and spotlights the hard work of professionals like you.
  • Recognition: We introduced a new format for the ASCM Awards of Excellence, allowing us to support organizations, teams and colleagues with the ultimate thank you for their talent and dedication.

Supply chain is the very pulse of global strategy, and it is your dedication and ingenuity that keep that pulse beating. This holiday season, I hope you're able to step away from your monitors and spreadsheets to enjoy some very well-deserved time with loved ones. On behalf of everyone at ASCM, thank you for your hard work, your passion and your friendship.
