Strategic Momentum for ASCM’s Next Chapter

title

When I first stepped into a leadership role at this organization more than two decades ago, the scope of supply chain was often defined by a manufacturing shop floor or the transit of goods from point A to point B. Today, that scope is unrecognizable. The chain has become a massive, living web of geopolitical shifts, technological leaps and systemic resilience. We are quite literally managing the stability of the modern world, and it has been the honor of my professional life to navigate this transformation alongside you.

As I prepare to conclude my tenure as CEO at the end of this year, I find myself reflecting on the extraordinary journey we have shared. We have lived through a shift from just-in-time to just-in-case, and more recently, toward a focus on total resilience and digital maturity. Of course, there was no greater catalyst for this than the pandemic. In those moments of unprecedented disruption and deep uncertainty, the world finally saw what we have always known: Supply chains are the threads that bind our global society. When the world felt like it was pulling apart, we were the ones holding the connections together.

Indeed, we didn't just witness change; we drove it. We transformed APICS into ASCM, creating a global reach that now touches every corner of the world. We expanded our relevance, becoming the leading voice in supply chain thought leadership, research, education and corporate transformation. Most importantly, we elevated the profession. Supply chain leaders are now recognized as strategic architects of the modern economy, and ASCM has been the platform that empowered that rise.

I am immensely proud of our people. From our dedicated staff to our global network of volunteers, partners and members, you are the heart of this community. We have built an organization that doesn’t just react to the future, but helps define it. Whether it was navigating trade shifts, integrating AI or championing sustainability, we did it as a cohesive community.

While my time as CEO will end, our momentum will not. The board has already initiated a rigorous search for a leader who will take this organization into a new era of growth. It’s also important to note that this transition was part of a long-term plan, ensuring that ASCM remains on the firmest possible footing. As we move toward the next chapter, I remain fully engaged and focused on our strategic priorities.

Join me at CHAINge 2026

I can think of no better place than ASCM’s flagship event to celebrate our shared achievements. CHAINge is the premier gathering for supply chain professionals, and I would be honored to have you there as we mark this milestone. You’ll experience world-class education, gain perspectives on tech transformation and global trade shifts, and join a community where leadership grows. I look forward to seeing you there to share a memory, a celebration and a vision for what’s next.
