Gina M. Raimondo was sworn in as the 40th U.S. Secretary of Commerce on March 3, 2021, with a mission to enhance America's competitiveness, create good-paying jobs, and strengthen economic and national security. Under her leadership, the Department of Commerce made historic investments in supply chain resilience, manufacturing, workforce training, and economic development through initiatives like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. She led a $39 billion investment in semiconductor manufacturing and an $11 billion R&D initiative under the CHIPS program, positioning the U.S. to produce roughly 20% of the world’s leading-edge logic chips by 2030. Additionally, she spearheaded efforts to secure supply chains by pioneering targeted technology controls to prevent adversaries from exploiting U.S. technology and strengthening global economic ties through the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity. Her leadership in AI policy, including the launch of the U.S. AI Safety Institute, has also positioned her as a key figure in advancing innovation while protecting national security.
As the 75th Governor of Rhode Island, Raimondo prioritized economic resilience by investing in infrastructure, expanding job training, and strengthening supply chains to support local industries. She launched initiatives to modernize ports, improve transportation networks, and attract new businesses, helping to secure Rhode Island’s position in the regional and national economy. Her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic also reinforced supply chain stability by ensuring critical goods and services remained available. Recognized as one of Fortune’s 50 Greatest Leaders, she has received numerous accolades for her work in economic and policy innovation. Prior to public service, she co-founded Point Judith Capital, leading its healthcare investment strategy, and earned degrees from Harvard, Oxford (as a Rhodes Scholar), and Yale Law School.

Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE is chief executive officer at ASCM, the largest organization for supply chain and the global pacesetter of organizational transformation, talent development and supply chain innovation. During his tenure, ASCM has significantly expanded its services to corporations, individuals and communities; its revenue has more than doubled; and three mergers were completed in response to heightened industry awareness and the vast and ongoing global impact of supply chains. Previously, Eshkenazi was managing director of the Operations Consulting Group of American Express Tax and Business Services. Eshkenazi holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University, Kellogg Graduate School of Management; a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University; and a bachelor’s degree in business from Northeastern Illinois University.
