Sara completed her second PhD in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2016. Her main research interests lie at the intersection of supply chain management, Blockchain, game theory and network optimization. She is interested in theoretically and empirically exploring and expanding the research on modeling service-oriented networks where multiple decision-makers face conflicting objectives in economically-driven, environmentally-sound networks like sustainable supply chain networks. 

Joseph Sarkis, Ph.D.

Professor of Supply Chain Management within the Foisie Business School, Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Joseph earned his Ph.D. from the University of Buffalo.  His research and teaching interests include Sustainability, Technology, Operations and Supply Chain Management. He has authored over 400 publications in a wide variety of outlets. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Engineering Management Review and Associate Editor for the journal Resources, Conservation and Recycling on the topic of sustainable supply chains. He holds editorial positions in a number of other leading journals in Operations, Transportation, Supply Chain, and Sustainability Management.  His most recent research includes Emergy Analysis within Sustainable Supply Chains, Blockchain and Industry 4.0 Technology within Sustainable Supply Chains, and Circular Economy topics. He is an AT&T Industrial Ecology Fellow and has served as a research scholar at universities throughout the world.
